Now pay electric bills through net, mobile

The Vellore Electricity Distributing Circle has introduced the facility of paying bills through the Internet, mobile phone, post office and select bank counters for low tension power consumers.

According to S K Perumalsamy, the Superintending Engineer, in addition to the existing regular cash payment at the section offices directly, the low tension power consumers can now pay using debit and credit cards through net banking,  post office and the City Union Bank counters.

The high tension power consumers can pay their bills through National Electronic Fund Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) modes.

The payment can be done at the following banks: The State Bank of India, Lakshmi Vilas Bank and Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank (net banking), City Union Bank, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank (mobile banking).
