Stung by the constant criticism of the Prime Minister by Team Anna, Minister of State in the PMO V Narayanasamy hit back by calling Anna’s inner circle “anti-national elements.”

Speaking as he arrived at the Chennai Airport for his weekend at home in Puducherry, Narayanasamy was particularly hard on former civil servant Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi. “Anna Hazare is an honest person, but people like (Arvind, Kejriwal and (Kiran Bedi have a lot of financial discrepancies to account for,” he said. How can they keep speaking about bringing back black money from abroad, when they themselves are unable to keep a clean account, he added.

He went on to openly query what happened to all the money that was collected as part of the anti-corruption movement last year.

“Bringing black money back is a long process and we are working with the agencies involved to expedite the process,” he said. He also warned Anna to watch out for the bad “foreign influences” that seem to be permeating into his inner circle.

He also said the UPA-backed candidate for the presidential elections would be announced within two days.

Narayanasamy added that there was no pressure on Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to resign as no judgement had gone against him in the Supreme Court, with regard to his election result.
