In an effort to help victims of ragging gain easier access to justice without fear, the police on Tuesday announced that drop-boxes would be placed in colleges across the district.
Speaking to journalists here , Superintendent of Police M Sathia Priya said, “The anti-ragging special cell, in cooperation with the squads of students and college authorities, will put up drop-boxes on college premises, besides displaying the e-mail id antiraggingnkl@yahoo.com and the phone numbers of officials.”
Urging students to “feel free” to come forward and share any information on the prevalence of ragging, the SP assured that the identity of the complainants would not be revealed at “any cost.”
The anti-ragging special cell in the district would be led by inspector K Shanthakumar and comprise two SIs, two special SIs and a constable.
