After NCP, another key UPA ally DMK today said it will support the ruling alliance's candidate in the Presidential election.
"We will accept the candidate proposed by the Congress," DMK chief M Karunanidhi told reporters when asked about UPA ally Trinamool Congress and Samajwadi Party proposing their own set of names.
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi had already informed him about her choice through Defence Minister A K Antony who met him last month, Karunanidhi said, adding he had accepted it.
Declining to divulge any name, he said, "There is no change in what I said earlier (pledging support to Congress nominee)."
Earlier in the day, DMK Parliamentary Party leader T R Baalu met Gandhi in Delhi and discussed the issue.
