A workshop on data dissemination on census of houses, household amenities and assets, was held at the French Institute of Pondicherry, here, on Thursday. S Gopalakrishnan, Director of Census Operations, Tamil Nadu and Puduchery, inaugurated the workshop. Dr Pierre Grard, director of the French Institute, was present.
Gopalakrishnan said that the census operations is one of the biggest administrative exercises of the country, in which nearly 2.7 million enumerators record various details of the population. He said the second phase of the census on population enumeration, which will be released by the end of this year, will have details about the migration, work pattern, languages, fertility etc.
The census director said the house listing and housing census was carried out during the first phase and the data had been released.
