Raja touched by rousing reception

It was indeed a grand and touching home coming for the former union minister A Raja, who returned after 15 months of jail life. The DMK propaganda secretary himself could not have dreamt of such an enthusiastic welcome.

Buoyed by the huge gathering and enthusiastic response, Raja, got down from the vehicle and started walking along Padalur  road, the entry point of Perambalur district.

Around 6.30 pm, Raja left from here to his native town of Perambalur where party cadre waiting for his arrival at Padalur since 4 pm. Party men had erected digital banners and hoardings in large numbers with covetous slogans praising him. Party flags and others festoons decked Perambalur town. Raja reached Padalur around 7 pm amidst a wave of DMK workers. Crackers were burst along with beating of drums. The cadre raised slogans praising Raja. Most of the slogans mentioned that the bond between party chief M Karunanidhi and Raja.
