IfFCO relief to farmers in Vellore

The district unit of the Indian Farmers Fertilizer Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), has urged the local farmers to buy fertilisers at old rates, after the prices of farm inputs went up recently.

“Due to sharp increase in prices of raw materials against the weakening rupee, the cost of fertilisers went up recently,” said  State marketing manager of IFFCO, B Krishnan.

The fertilizers are stocked with the TANFED buffer godowns as well as the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACCS). Over 18,000 tons of DAP and other complex fertilisers are available for the farmers. Farmers have been urged to purchase the fertilizers at the old rate printed on the fertilizer bags for the Kuruvai crops.

However, in future, the fertilizers would be sold at the new price.
