Police today informed Madras HighCourt bench they had registered a case against controversialself styled godman Nithyananda and two others for allegedlyproviding devotees holy water mixed with drugs at the Adheenamhere.
When the case came up for hearing before Justice A Selvamtoday, the government advocate said police had registered caseunder relevant sections against Nithyanandha and two others ona complaint by petitioner M Solaikannan of Hindu Makkal Katchithat a case had not been registered.
Solaikannnan said he had filed the petition as police hadnot acted on his complaint to test the nature of the watergiven to the devotees and to take necessary action.
