Two arrested for land grab

Pitchaimuthu of Kavalur in Arakkonam lodged a complaint with the ALGC against his uncle, Kalimuthu, and a realtor, Mohan, alleging that they had made bogus documents and converted 3.12 acre of his land in Mohan’s name in 2010. The duo sold the land after converting it into plots, said a policeman. On an inquiry, the police found that the allegations were true. Police arrested Kalimuthu on June 13 and Mohan on June 20. They registered a case against them for land grabbing and creating bogus documents. They were remanded to judicial custody and sent to the Vellore Prison for Men.

Man Hurt in Firing from Illegal Gun

Vellore: Vanapuram police on Saturday arrested three persons for causing bullet injuries to a 52-year-old man and for possessing a country-made gun without license.

They arrested Arokiyasamy (42), Kuppan (37) and Raja alias Arokiadoss (35) of Thenkarupalur village for causing injuries to Chinnasamy on Thursday night. The police arrested them and registered a case under section 337 of IPC and 25 (1) (a) of Arms Act.
