Scores of parents took to the streets on Monday, protesting against a school teacher, who, they claimed, verbally abused their children and used indecent language in the classroom.
According to the protesting parents, P Sathia Prabhu, an English teacher at the Panchayat Union Middle School at Vadugapatti used abusive language in the classroom.
“When a girl complained of stomach pain, he asked whether she felt pain in other parts too,” claimed an angry parent, P Devi.
Though he has been behaving in such an “indecent manner” for some time now, authorities failed to take action against him, she said.
School Head Mistress G Krishnaveni said, “I informed the officials of the Elementary Education department immediately after the parents made complaints against Sathia Prabhu on Thursday last.”
A police team led by inspector M Ravichandran helped the teacher leave the school under protection.
