Focus more on crime detection, says IGP

Inspector General of Police (North zone) P Kannappan on Wednesday directed senior police officers attached to the Vellore Range to improve crime detection rate in their respective jurisdiction.

“The review meeting was a routine affair. I have given instructions to the police officers to bring uniformity in all stations in the zone and  file charges at the earliest,” said the IG.

Senior police officers, who took part in the meeting, said the IG told them to direct their subordinates to speed up inquiries of pending cases and file chargesheet in each case at the earliest.
