Scholarship for minority students

Applications are invited from minority students (Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Sikh and Parsi) studying in plus one, plus two, ITI, Polytechnic, diploma courses, degree and post graduate courses, MPhil and PhD at government recognised institutions to avail of the post-matric scholarship for the year 2012-13.

They must have secured not less than 50 per cent in the qualifying exams and should not have availed of any other welfare assistance. A maximum of two members from a family would be considered.

Candidates in higher secondary schools could download the application from www.tn.gov.in/bcmbcmw/welfschemes_minorities/html. For candidates at college level, only online applications would be accepted. Candidates would have to apply through the website www.momascholarship.gov.in. The last date for verified applications submission is September 15, 2012.

Scholarship for Minority Girl Students

Girl students in Plus One and belonging to minority communities can avail the Moulana Azad Scholarship (`12,000) offered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs. The candidates must belong to the Muslim/Christian/Buddhist/Parsi/Sikh communities. Students should have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in the Class Ten board exams and should be studying in an educational institution recognised by the State/Central Government.
