Special camps for population register

Special camps are being organised to prepare the National Population Register (NPR), which is scheduled to begin from Arcot Taluk on July 1, 2012.

In a release, the District Collector appealed to the residents of Arcot Taluk to carry relevant documents for registering. Acknowledgement slip given during the previous census is also required.

From the age of 5 all family members would have to undergo biometric scanning and have a picture taken at the camps. School children could participate in the camps during weekends.

Camps would be held in following schools: Pudupadi (July 1 to 7), Kilampadi (July 1-4), Kukundi (1-7), Paperi (1-5), Keerampadi (1-5), Kadappanthangal (1-5), Valvanur (1-7), Karivedu (1-5), Gurumudithangal (1-5), Esaiyanur (1-7), Perungalmedu (1-5), Mulluvadi (3-9), Muzhalai (3-7), Kilathangal (3-7), Karikkanthangal (3-7) and Mecheri (3-9).
