CHENNAI: Sukma District Collector Alex Paul Menon and his wife Asha came home to Chennai on Saturday.

Soon after news of their arrival from the airport broke, reporters and photographers were on their toes trying to catch up with the couple, but could not.

A family member, to whom a reporter got through over phone, said politely, “Yes, they are coming but would not be interested in meeting mediapersons.”

Photographers, who rushed to Paul Menon’s father’s house in Kolathur found the lights switched off. His father-in-law’s residence in Nolumbur was locked and a man living on the street said that he saw the family leaving around 4 pm.

Since this is the first time the couple are coming to Chennai, it evoked much interest among mediapersons, who were keen to talk to them about the agonising days they had.
