MADURAI : Bharatiya Forward Bloc (BFB) along with the constituents of the Madurai Aadheenam Retrieval Committee has decided to stage a picketing agitation on June 5 demanding the removal of Nithyananda from the post of junior pontiff. A delegation of the party along with another organisation, Annai Meenakshi Amman Pillaigal, met Collector U Sagayam here on Monday and handed over a petition to this effect.
K A Muruganji, the founder president of the party, who led the delegation, said Nithyananda was anointed as the 293rd pontiff in violation of traditions of the mutt. His anointment was not accepted by the heads of Saivite institutions, including Dharmapuram and Tiruvavaduthurai mutts, he added.
