COIMBATORE: Condemning the Centre for the steepest ever petrol price hike the DMK, a key constituent in the UPA, announced on Friday that it would hold peaceful protests on May 30 seeking a rollback.

In a release, the party said that the protests would be held in front of all District Collector’s offices urging the Centre to revoke its decision as it would affect the citizens who were already burdened by bus fare, milk price and power tariff hike.

Left Outfits’ Stir

All India Democratic Women’s Association, Democratic Youth Federation of India and Students Federation of India jointly announced that they would block rail and road traffic on May 31 across the State seeking immediate rollback of petrol price.
