VELLORE: Tiruppattur Sub-collector on Wednesday restricted putting up banners in the Tiruppattur division. The restriction has come following an order by the District Administration.

The Sub-collector, Shilpa Prabhakar, stated in a release that those who want to put up banners should apply at the collector’s office, 15 days in advance. In case of requests to put up banners on private lands, a letter of permission from the owner of the land should accompany the application. If the land for installing the banner belongs to the government, the application should be attached with a permission letter from the concerned government department’s officer.

While the fee for installing a banner in the Vellore Municipality area is `100, it is `50 in the Town Panchayat and Panchayat Union areas, the release stated. Moreover, the banner can be kept only for six days and the it should display the permission number to avoid it being removed, the release said.
