Following a tip off that a casual labour Kaliappan (57) of Kembiyampatti, Andhiyur, was selling ivory, cops went like customers to his house. He showed some ivory, but police found that they were fake and made up of aloe vera.

As he tired to dupe public and extract money form them, police arrested him and his associates Murugesh (49) of Sathy and Senthilkumar (45) of Karamadai.

They were produced before the Andhiyur JM court and remanded for 15 days.
