Return Durai's passport, orders Madras HC

The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court on Thursday ordered the Melur Judicial Magistrate (JM) to return the passport of Durai Dayanidhi after an undertaking was filed by his counsel R John Sathyan before the court.

Justice K B K Vasuki reserved her decision and subsequently delivered the judgement on Thursday, lifting the conditions imposed on the petitioner.

She granted anticipatory bail to Durai Dayanidhi and ordered the Melur JMto return the passport to him.Accepting the affidavit of undertaking filed by Durai that he would furnish details of his travels in advance through his counsel, Justice K B K Vasuki directed the petitioner to inform the JM Court of his plans 10 days prior to any journey.  The petitioner was told to execute a bond for `2 lakh and to produce the passport as and when required by Melur JM. Earlier Durai Dhayanidhi was asked to surrender his passport before the Melur JM court, after granting him conditional bail on December 10, 2012.
