The Corporation has planned to rent out the septic tank cleaning truck for public use, as part of its initiatives to provide value-added services to people.

The vehicle was purchased at a cost of Rs 8 lakh under the Integrated Urban Development Mission in the financial year 2011-2012.

Engineer E Devakumar said, “The Corporation had been finding various sources to increase the revenue of the local body, following which it was decided to rent out the truck to the public.”

The capacity of the truck is 6,000 litres and the rent has been fixed at Rs 1,500 per load. A resolution in this connection was passed at the recently held council meeting.
