Withdraw cases on DD office attack: Law students

Law college students staged a rally here on Monday protesting the arrest of four persons following an attempt to enter the premises of the Doordarshan Kendra at Indira Nagar.

Students broke the glasses of the Doordarshan Kendra office and cases were charged under non-bailable sections against them. Students march was blocked by the police near Ambur Salai.

A representation of students, however, met Inspector General of Police Ranveer Singh Krishnia and submitted a memorandum seeking the withdrawal of cases against the four arrested persons.

Twelve activists of the Puducherry Students Federation (PSF) were arrested and cases were registered against four of them after  they pelted stones on the Doordarshan Kendra office, protesting against the channel’s “inadequate” coverage of the anti-Lanka agitation recently.
