Two women held for burning accused alive

Two women, Rajalakshmi (45) and Poongothai (37), were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the case in which Ganesan was burnt to death in Velankuppam near Panruti.

Kadampuliyur police had booked four women in the murder case and arrested two of them. Special teams headed by inspector Murugesan are searching for the other two accused.

Sources said, “Rajalakshmi reportedly confessed that she had murdered Ganesan as,  he used to threaten her. He told her that he had killed her son-in-law Rajkumar and was now out of jail. This  infuriated Rajalakshmi who along with others burnt Ganesan.” Police said that Ganesan was allegedly involved in other crimes earlier.
