6-feet-long spear pierces boy in stomach

Little did 16-year-old Senthil Kumar expect that a day out with friends on a hunting trip would land him in the hospital with a six-foot-long spear in his stomach.

The boy’s father, a farmer from MGR Nagar in Thedavur said that Senthil Kumar had gone with his friends to collect honey from the forest. The boys had left in the afternoon with crude weapons, apparently for hunting.

While returning with the honey, Senthil was walking along the road with the tip of the spear facing him when the weapon hit a stone and pierced the boy’s stomach.

The boy was admitted to the Salem GH on Wednesday night.  The doctors found the task of removing the weapon challenging and put him on pre-operation treatment.

The Gengavalli Police who took a statement from the parents said the boy was out of danger and treatment on.
