Congress can’t be isolated on Sri Lankan issue: Karti

Tamil Nadu Congress leader Karti P Chidambaram said the Dravidian parties’ efforts to isolate Congress party on the Sri Lankan issue will not succeed.

Inaugurating the newly introduced rides at an amusement park, Pogo Land, at Pathukannu here on Sunday, he said some political parties in Tamil Nadu were involved in propagating against the Congress with regard to the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, by creating an impression that the party is anti-Tamil.

He claimed that Congress has made more sacrifices for the Tamils in the Island nation than any other parties, who are involved in spreading misinformation. Demanding the hanging of the Rajiv Gandhi killers, Karti, son of Finance Minister P Chidambaram, said Congress party has always stood for equal rights for Lankan Tamils as guaranteed by that country’s constitution, but never backed a separate Eelam.
