A woman and her daughter allegedly committed suicide at their house near Vadavalli on Sunday night.
The incident came to light on Monday morning after a relative saw their bodies hanging.
Police said the reason for their deaths was yet to be ascertained as no suicide note was found.
Saradha (55) and Sindhu (21) were living near Navavur Pirivu after Saradha’s father died three years ago.
Sindhu was a BBA student at a private college, while Saradha was a labourer. “They were not in talking terms with most of their neighbours and often used to quarrelwith them. We even registered an FIR against Saradha some months ago following a complaint from a neighbour,” said police SI Balakrishnan.
