Karnataka team scans Vellore for suspects

A special police investigation team from Karnataka has launched an independent and secret enquiry in Vellore and a few other pockets of Tamil Nadu, in connection with the Wednesday’s bomb blast at Malleswaram in Bangalore.

A highly placed police officer, on condition of anonymity, said, a special team from Karnataka was conducting an ‘independent enquiry’ in connection with blast in which 12 police personnel and five others were injured on Wednesday.

The Tamil Nadu State police were assisting the Karnataka team in its enquiry here, he said, adding,”The independent investigation began on Thursday to gather intelligence about the terror link, if any, here.”

A senior police officer said,”The special team also conducted an enquiry in Vellore city on Thursday.” He, however, refused to disclose further information regarding the enquiry. Further, the team completely scanned the video footages recorded in the surveillance mechanism installed in the toll plaza on Nation Highways- 46, connecting Chennai-Bangalore at Pernambut.
