Based on the complaint of a 21-year-model, the all women police station here on Friday registered a case of sexual exploitation against a 46-year-old man, working as a location manager in the Tamil film industry.

The girl, Rani (named changed), hailing from Pudupet in Chennai in her petition to the Superintendent of Police had alleged that Kumar (name changed), from Puducherry, had lured her to Puducherry on false promises of getting her roles in films.

She had further made allegations that Kumar(name changed) had confined her to a guest house and had had sex with her “without her consent”.

Superintendent of Police S Ramaraj said a case under Sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against Kumar (name changed) and police is conducting further investigations in this case.
