Suspend Villupuram SP: Ramadoss

PMK founder S Ramadoss sought the suspension of Villupuram SP for his failure to prevent Marakkanam violence.

He also sought a CBCID inquiry and demanded that an inquiry commission be set up with HC judge as its head to probe the matter. The PMK had planned to hold an agitation at Villupuram on Tuesday urging the police to immediately arrest those behind the violence.

Addressing reporters here on Saturday, the PMK leader blamed the Villupuram

SP Manoharan for the violence and demanded that the SP be suspended immediately. “When the VCK cadre were blocking the road at Marakkanam, instead of removing the cadre and clearing the road for traffic, the SP ordered PMK activists to return. This was the cause for the violence. Had the SP taken correct decision, the violence could have been prevented,” said the PMK leader. “CBCID inquiry should be ordered to probe the Marakkanam violence. The CBCID team should comprise non-Dailts and non-Vanniyar members,” said Ramadoss.

Terming the death of two persons, Vivek and Selvaraj, as twin murder,Ramadoss said, “This twin murder and the violence was instigated by VCK and its leader Thol Thirumavalavan.

Meanwhile, the CPM on Saturday strongly condemned the violence that took place in Marakkanam. CPM State Secretary G Ramakrishnan said it was shocking that Dalits have been attacked yet again even before that could come out of violence that transpired in Dharmapuri.
