Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday dedicated to the nation a Rs 350-crore BHEL Power Plant Piping Unit at Thirumayam in the district, and High Pressure Boiler in Tiruchy, in the presence of Governor K Rosaiah and Union Ministers P Chidambaram and Praful Patel.
Lauding Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and her Council of Ministers, Manmohan said her untiring efforts have propelled the State to the forefront of development at all levels, compared to other States.
“Yours is a progressive State and a role model in many respects for the rest of our country,” the Prime Minister said, lauding the development in the State.
This is a reflection of the Chief Minister’s ideology of making the State witness all-round development through ‘Vision 2025’, and her view that her government is committed to make Tamil Nadu a new model State among the other States, Manmohan added.
The Prime Minister concluded his address by saying that the State was steadily growing and a role model for the other States in terms of development.
Union Finance Minister P Chidambaran offered felicitations.
Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel welcomed the gathering.
Tamil Nadu Transport Minister V Senthil Balaji represented the State government.
