According to police, R Tamil Selvan (21) was the son of V Ramadoss (50) a barber of Ganapathy Kadu, Seerakapadi in Salem. Tamil Selvan completed his school education through Tamil Medium. A couple of weeks ago, Tamil Selvan joined BE (Electronics and Communication Engineering - ECE)  II year at a private engineering college in Madukkarai, through lateral entry system. He was staying in a room with his friends at Raj Vijay Nagar. Last week, he had complained about his inability to his parents due to the language problem. But, his parents convinced him saying he would be able to pick up and follow the subject in course of time, police said.

He had also expressed the same thing to his friends as well. Around 12.30 pm on Monday, Tamil Selvan’s friends went to his room to take him for lunch. When they opened the door, they were shocked to find Tamil Selvan hanging in the room.

The friends immediately informed his father. On information, Madukkarai police rushed to the spot, recovered his body and sent it for the postmortem to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Based on a complaint from the youth’s father Ramadoss, Madukkarai police have registered a case and are investigating.
