Two women pickpockets arrested

Two women pickpockets were arrested after they were caught by passers-by for allegedly stealing a purse from a woman at Hosur Town Bus Stand here on Friday.

Shanthi (45), wife of Kannappan in Chinna Elesagiri village, was waiting at the bus stand to board a bus to her village when two women, who were standing behind her, stole the money purse from her shopping bag. However,Shanthi raised an alarm following which other commuters immediately caught the duo as they tried to flee. They were handed over to the police control room at the bus stand.

Inspector Chitra Devi and SI Savithri held inquiries and recovered Rs 1,000 and silver chains from the duo, identified as  Amudha and Eswari (29) from Tiruchi.
