Elango, father of Ilavarasan who reportedly committed suicide in Dharmapuri, submitted a petition to DGP K Ramanujam seeking protection for his kin following a threat letter reportedly sent by PMK functionary, addressed to him for raking up issues over his son’s death, here on Saturday.
Elango told the media that the letter was recieved on August 7 which questioned whether Ilavarasan was a freedom fighter or winner of President’s gallantry award or President’s son, but a Dalit.
