Betrayers not welcome to Congress: MoS

Union Minister of State in the PMO, V Narayansamy said those who had betrayed the Congress and deserted it were not welcome to the party again.

“Those who went out of Congress following differences may be allowed to rejoin, but not the ones who betrayed and deserted the party,” he said, while welcoming the AINRC workers led by Kannan, to the party fold here on Sunday.

The Union Minister was indirectly referring to Chief Minister N Rangasamy, who quit the party after being in power as Chief Minister for nearly seven and half years with the full backing of the Congress, to form the AINRC two months before the last State Assembly elections.

He said Rangasamy had given false promises at the time of Assembly polls and betrayed the people. He said he was ready to take up with the Centre the issue of availing more funds to UT. “Rangasamy need not come and see me, but he should sent a letter to me seeking more funds from the Centre,” Narayanasamy said.
