Petitions seek action against MP Ritheesh

Two petitions have been filed in the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court seeking action against DMK Ramanathapuram MP and actor JK Ritheesh Kumar. In one petition, former Manjurai Village Panchayat president Thangaraj alleged that Ritheesh and his supporters had attacked him while he was waiting to welcome DMK general secretary K Anbazhagan in August 2012 in Madurai. He alleged that the MP had abused him by his caste name and had filed a complaint with the Thalakulam police.

Besides, 11 cases were pending against Ritheesh in police stations in Kancheepuram, Paramakudi, Abiraman, Thirupalaikudi, Ramanathapuram and Madurai. Since no action was taken on his complaint, he sought a direction to the respondents to initiate action against the MP.

In another petition, Swamidurai of Paramakudi Taluk alleged that when he was waiting at the DMK district secretary Suba Thangavelan’s house to welcome party treasurer M K Stalin, a six-member gang instigated by Ritheesh attacked him. The Paramakudi Town Police station refused to register a case against the MP. Hence, he sought a direction to act on his complaint.
