Will win 15 seats in LS polls: PMK

PMK President G K Mani said his party would win 15 Parliamentary constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking to the media persons here on Sunday, Mani said the State was implicating cases on his party men as it could not tolerate the growth of the PMK in the State.

Claiming that the PMK had a strong base in the northern districts, the PMK president said the party was now making inroads in the southern belt as well. Now that the PMK’s base has expanded in the State, it would surely win 10 to 15 constituencies hands down in the ensuing general elections, he added.

Referring to the plight of fishermen at the hands of Lankan navy, he opined that retrieving ‘Kathcha Theevu’ would be the best solution to the problem and insisted that the Centre should take stringent action save the fishermen of the State.

Speaking about the elevation of High Court Judges, G K Mani said that the vacancies should be filled as soon as possible to ensure speedy Justice.

Stressing that the government instead of imposing ban on people attending the birth anniversary celebrations and Guru poojas of community leaders, especially in the southern districts, he said police protection should be given to the participants of such functions.
