L Ganesan, BJP National Executive Committee member said if the BJP came to power at the Centre, the government assistance schemes for minorities would be cancelled and equal assistance would be extended to all students, including Hindus.

Speaking to reporters after addressing a pubic meeting organised by the party’s district youth wing, at Market Bus Stand, here, he said, Congress was extending concessions to minorities with the only intention of catching their vote bank. At present, concessions to minorities was more than that of SC students, he added.

Stating that BJP supported all religions, he said Congress was dividing students in class rooms through its educational concessions, scholarships and financial assistance to minority students. He said, the next LS election would not take place in advance because the UPA government needed more time to hide files regarding various scams. He said UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi herself had announced that LS polls would not be conducted in advance, and it could only be understood that the Manmohan Singh-led government wanted more time to conceal files.

Ganesan hopefully predicted that a bulk of the electorate, which was neutral, would favour the BJP because of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s charisma.
