A head constable attached to the Kannamangalam police station in Tiruvannamalai suffered injuries after he was attacked by a man with whom he reportedly had previous enmity, on Tuesday.

Sources said the head constable Sakthivel (42) of Keezhpallipattu, was on his way to the station when Arumugam (35) of the same area picked up a quarrel with him near the Keezhpallipattu railway gate. He then proceeded to Sakthivel’s house and quarrelled with him again. Both then exchanged blows. The residents admitted Sakthivel at the GH in Arni, while Arumugam was admitted to the GH Vellore.

Both reportedly lodged complaints against each other. Vellore taluk police have registered a case.
