Sedated before assault, says 17-year-old girl

A 17-year-old girl was on Tuesday allegedly gang-raped by a bus conductor and another person after she was taken to Villupuram from Villianur.

After the victim contacted her parents, they admitted her at Rajiv Gandhi Government Women and Child Hospital at Ellaipillaichavady for treatment.

According to medical superintendent of the hospital, the victim had told doctors that after boarding the bus, the conductor had sedated her and she was in a semi-conscious state. The next thing she remembered was that she was in a dark room and another man led her out of the room and left her at Villupuram bus stand, from where she got in touch with her parents.

Though the victim did not have any external injuries, she was suffering from exhaustion. Her condition was stable, hospital sources said. The sources added that her medical examination was being done and a report would be submitted.

Deputy Inspector General of Police I D Shukla said that when the matter was reported to the Thirubhuvanai Police Station, Puducherry police got in touch with their Tamil Nadu counterparts in Villupuram. Five teams have been formed to nab the culprits, he said.
