The CII, with the support of the Tamil Nadu government, will hold a conference on medical tourism here in April to create awareness about the state as a global health tourism destination.

According to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the two-day conference-cum-exhibition - 'An International Conference and Exhibition on Health Tourism' - is slated for April 19-20 here.

It would aim to create awareness about Tamil Nadu as medical tourism destination at the global level by assembling all stakeholders together in a single platform and showcasing their products and services.

According to the CII, the conference would be used to brainstorm the preparedness required by all the stakeholders and also to enhance business linkages and also highlight the emerging trends opportunities and challenges in the Indian health tourism arena.

The CII said patients from around 55 countries get treated at various Indian hospitals.
