Former Erode MLA M Subramaniam ofDMK has died here after a brief illness.
78-year old Subramaniam, popularly known as "Ma Su", passedaway last night, party sources said.
He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
Subramaniam represented Erode constituency in the Assemblyfrom 1971 to 1976. He had also been the Chairman of ErodeMunicipal council from 1991 to 1996.
During Emergency, he was detained under MISA and jailed fora year.
