The TASMAC outlets in the district made a quick sales turnover of Rs 10 crore on two days during the Pongal festive season. The sales this year had gone up by 30 per cent compared to last year, District Manager (TASMAC), S Maheshwari said.
She said over 20,450 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor and over 14,960 cases of beer were sold by 280 TASMAC outlets in the district on Bogi and Pongal. On Bogi, the sale crossed `4.30 crore and on Pongal it was Rs 5.95 crore.
She said,“TASMAC outlets would be closed on January 25, 26 and 27.” Action would be taken if any outlet or bar was seen functioning on the holidays, she warned.
