A 22-year-old youth was arrested for raping a 16-year-old girl with the help of two of his friends at a village here on Monday night.
Police said Raja Sekar of Sarangal village was arrested after a complaint from Uma (name changed) for kidnapping and raping her.
His friends Vinod Kumar (24) and Parthiban (21) were held for helping Sekar. Uma said Sekar and his friends stopped her and gagged her and took her to an isolated spot where Sekar raped her. The trio was lodged in the Vellore Prison for men.
