Assistant head master held on sex abuse charge

According to sources, S Vivekanandan (54), of Pillayarpatti has been working as Assistant headmaster of GHSS, Marungulam, and has been handling Botony class. On July 10, he asked the girl to rewrite a class test for not writing with black ink. While she was giving the test, he made advances on her.

An assistant head master was arrested here on Monday night for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old Plus-II girl.

According to sources, S Vivekanandan (54), of Pillayarpatti near here, has been working as Assistant headmaster of GHSS, Marungulam, and has been handling Botony class. On July 10, he asked the girl to rewrite a class test for not writing with black ink. While she was giving the test, he made advances on her.

Later, during the lunch break, he summoned her to the lab and is said to have embraced her. The girl wriggled out of his hold and ran away to the classroom. The girl reported the matter to her mother.

Her mother approached the All India Women Democratic Association (AIDWA). The mother of the girl along with the officer-bearers of AIDWA including the district secretary Tamilselvi approached SP G Dharmarajan on Monday. SP directed the Tamil University police to investigate the matter.

After investigation, the police arrested S Vivekanandan. He was later remanded in judicial custody.
