321 men, 9 women CISF cadets march out for duty

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) plays a major role in protecting the public assets of the country, said Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mullappally Ramachandran.

He was speaking at the valedictry function of the Assistant Sub Inspectors’ training programme at the CISF Recruitment Training Centre in Arakkonam.

The minister said that the candidates possess skills to work in any department. He also notified the candidates passing out on Saturday that they were to be placed at airports. Stating that the protection given by CISF personnel is known world-wide, he said that CISF personnel work with dedication even in naxal-infested areas.

Ramachandran earlier took the Guard of Honour at the passing-out parade comprising 330 candidates, of which nine are women. He gave away special prizes to Alvinarelang, who gave an exemplary performance during the training.

Ramachandran also gave away prizes to Sohanlal for his performance in indoor training, Jagannath Asarika for his performance in the field training, Kapil Parthi for shooting and The Governor’s Cup to Viveklama, who was chosen the best commander.
