Jaya announces solatium for rain victims

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today announced a solatium of Rs one lakh each to the next of kin of nine persons, who were killed in rain-related incidents in the state last month.

The solatium from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund was announced for the victims hailing from Villupuram, Thanjavur, Virudhunagar, Cuddalore, Madurai, Tiruvallur and Tirunelveli districts, an official release said.

She also announced a solatium of Rs 25,000 for a person, who was injured in a wall collapse during rains at Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district last month, it said.
