A 55-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death of a two-and-half-year-old girl, whose body was retrieved from a septic tank of the house of the accused in Neerathanallur village last week.
The body of Abinaya, daughter of Senthilkumar and Vailankanni couple, both farm workers from north street, Neelthanallur, was found in the septic tank of their neighbour Senthamizhselvi’s house last Wednesday. On September 8, Senthilkumar had filed a complaint with the Swamimalai police stating that his child Abinaya who was playing in front of the house went missing on September 7.
During spot investigation, police found the slabs on the septic tank of Senthamizhselvi’s house not plastered.
A special police team was set up.
The team retrieved the body from the septic tank and also tumbled upon the blood stained shirt of Kasinathan (55), father-in-law of Senthamizhselvi.
