A woman belonging to a family of DMK functionaries has alleged that Karuppasamy Pandian, the Tirunelveli district secretary of the DMK, tried to misbehave after calling her for a meeting at Courtallam in the district.

A woman belonging to a family of DMK functionaries has alleged that Karuppasamy Pandian, the Tirunelveli district secretary of the DMK, tried to misbehave after calling her for a meeting at Courtallam in the district.

The woman identified as Tamilarasi (31) lodged a complaint to the Tirunelveli DIG Sumit Saran on Tuesday. In her complaint, Tamilarasi said that she was the daughter of Naladiar, former Tirunelveli city youth wing organizer of DMK and her grandfather Kuralerulavar, was one among the cadre who started the Tirunelveli unit in 1950. Hailing from a family which had long association with DMK, Tamilarasi too wished to join the party. Heeding her request, Naladiar took his daughter to Tirunelveli DMK secretary Karuppasamy Pandian on August 23 this year.

Pandian, who admitted her into the party, promised to give a district level post. Then he asked to leave her mobile number to his aide Allal Karthick. Subsequently, on August 28, Karthick called her over phone and told that Karuppasamy Pandian wanted to talk to her. Karuppasamy Pandian, who came on line, asked Tamilarasi to come to his bungalow at Courtallam as he wanted to give some political advice to her. Beleiving his words, Tamilarasi went to the bungalow along with her father in the evening on the same day.

Karuppasamy Pandian allegedly asked Naladiar to wait outside and took Tamilarasi into a room. Then Karuppasamy Pandian allegedly attempted to misbehave with Tamilarasi. When she resisted his attempts, Pandian told her that she had to   adjust with him to get party posts.

When Tamilarasi remained adamant, Pandian threatened to kill her, if she revealed the matter to anyone.

Though Express  tried to contact Karuppasamy Pandian, he was unavailable for comment.
