HM suspended for sexually abusing class five student

A panchayat union elementary school headmaster was suspended by the district elementary educational officer on various charges including physically abusing a Std V girl.

The suspension was orderd after a series of complaints made before AEEO by parents and public of village in the district. According to sources, M Ravi (48), headmaster of panchayat union elementary school, Thevarpatti, Aranthangi union was suspended by district elementary educational officer. The order was issued on September 18.

According to villagers, a panchayt union elementary school was functioning under Thanthani village to cater to the education needs of village students. Totally,  23 students were studying at the school from class 1 to 5, where two teachers were on service including Ravi and a lady teacher.

Ten days ago, while the woman teacher was on leave, Ravi tried to physically abuse a fifth standard girl student, who informed it to her parents.  On information, the villagers tried to assault the HM and lodged a complaint with the AEEO of Aranthangi region. Since the AEEO delayed taking action, villagers gheoroed AEEO Elangovan when he came to school for his regular field inspection on Monday. They allegedly made several complaints in a written petition and it included attempt to physically abuse girl students.

The AEEO forwarded the complaint to DEO who suspended headmaaster Ravi  on Thursday night.
