Sex charge against AHM true: Panel

Talking to reporters here on Thursday after conducting an enquiry into the incident that took place in July, Rangasamy said enquiries with the victim’s classmates, mother, relatives, school head master, Chief Educational Officer and police officials regarding the incident were held and it was found that the complaint was genuine.

Stating that the commission would recommend compensation for the girl, she said that the commission would also recommend financial assistance for the girl to pursue higher studies after plus two.

Replying to a question about the departmental action taken against the Assistant Headmaster concerned, Saraswathi Rangaswamy said that he remained suspended from service.

On the progress of criminal case against the AHM, the chairperson said the charge sheet would be filed shortly.

It may be recalled that S Vivekanandan (54) of Pillayarpatti, working as Assistant Head Master of Marungulam school was arrested on July 15 for sexually abusing a 16-year-old plus two girl studying in the same school.

Case Filed

A case under sections 294 (b) (uttering obscene words), 506 (1) (criminal intimidation) under Indian Penal Code and under section 8 of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Sexual Assault) and section 3 (i) (ii) of SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was filed against Vivekanandan, sources said.
