Needle Pulled Out of Woman's Abdomen

CUDDALORE: In a shocking incident, a woman who delivered a baby through caesarean section recently, pulled out a needle from her abdomen. The needle had been left in her body by surgeons who carried out the procedure on her a few months back.

According to sources, Kavitha (23), wife of vegetable vendor Pushparaj of Veppur, delivered a boy via caesarean section at a private hospital in Salem in May. It was said that the doctors unknowingly left the needle inside her body during the operation. After this, Kavitha experienced pain in her abdomen. On Thursday, while bathing, she felt the tip of the sharp needle protruding from her abdomen and pulled it out.

Kavitha was taken to the Vriddhachalam GH for a check-up to make sure no further harm had been caused by the needle.

After undergoing tests, the doctors told her that the needle did not cause any harm to her and she was later discharged.
